Let’s talk sales 💸💸💸 today …

More specifically, there is a problem I commonly see with clients sabotaging sales because of their mindset.

It could literally be costing your a lot of CASH.

So if you feel as though …

  • You always get close but lose out

  • You are facing a upper limit pricing/income block

  • You have the perfect sales script but can’t seem to close

If you are anything like my clients in high ticket sales or dealing with contracts worth hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars (funding, trades, deals) it goes a little something like this:

  • you are on the sales call/negotiation/deal

  • you are really excited to potentially land this massive deal

BUT INSIDE YOU FEEL LIKE A BALL OF ANXIETY…

  • You are so in your head about actually closing

  • All you can think about is how you are going to say the PRICE

Then your mind goes into armageddon mode …

  • what if they say no

  • what if you can’t deliver the value

  • what if you aren’t good enough to close

So you are spiraling in your head, which means you are not even present to the actual sale. You aren’t actually listening to the person you are trying to help, so it will be difficult to offer an epic solution they actually care about and connecting the dots for them (aka winning the sale).

This is where the self sabotage happens …

  • In sales call

    • you lower your price

    • you never say the higher price (ever)

    • you start to give them all kinds of options

    • And they haven’t even said anything yet

  • In negotiations

    • you barely negotiation in fear you will lose out

    • you settle for less than you want

So WTF is going on! You know how to sell. You know how much you want.

Then you get hijacked. You get this fearful anxiety and this gross desperate feeling related to sales ..

Subconsciously, you are in survival mode.

Listen, why do you care about survival mode right?

Let me break it down for you and how your current “survival mode” leads to mindset blocks:

  • what if you can’t deliver (self worth)

  • what if they don’t find it worth it (self worth)

  • who is going to pay you that price ( self worth, money block)

  • that you become “inaccessible” (rich people are greedy, money block)

  • when will the next one come (scarcity, money block)

  • what if they can’t afford it (you are taking advantage of them, rich people are bad, money block)

  • they will be worse off (money block)

The list can go on …

You notice that in all of these examples you feel some element of fear, shame and guilt. Negative emotional states, never results in optimal outcomes because you are not in control.

Subconscious, there are 3 main reasons you block more money:

  1. Scarcity Mindset

    • You believe resources are limited

    • That there isn’t enough to go around

    • That is why you feel like you might “lose out” aka survival’

    • You start behaving “desperately”

  2. Money Blocks

    • Making money makes you a bad person (greedy, selfish)

    • That you have to work “hard” for money (so you make it hard)

    • You aren’t aligned with having more money

  3. Self Worth

    • Imposter syndrome

    • Who are you to charge that price

    • There are other people better than you out there

    • High self doubt that you can actually deliver “at that price”

Again, this isn’t always logical but if you subconsciously believe its true, you don’t want more money. There is a consequence. So your behaviours aka self sabotage occurs.

This is why no matter how many sales frameworks you have, you can’t seem to close on the prices you want.

This is clearly not a strategy problem. You know what to do. 

You have a mindset problem (even more specific, a BELIEFS PROBLEM).

It almost feels like you cannot control it, no matter HOW HARD you try and say you will do it differently next time…

Okay so here are some tangible ways in which you can begin to reprogram your sales mindset:

SERVICE VS. SALES

People hate being sold out but people LOVE TO BUY.

When you can slow down and put the money to the side..

(I say money to the side hypothetically because most people when asked if what they wanted to sell was free, they have so much confidence behind it but once money is involved they get in a tizzy)

Then you are actually available to:

  • build strong rapport

  • listen to what they want

  • understand their motives

  • start creating connections with how you can fix the problem

  • Present the epic solution framed to their desires!

When people feel heard and feel they are getting value (aka what they want!), this is what gives you the upper hand to ultimately close the deal.

Being present with them vs being in your head makes all the difference.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY

You cannot control what others think

  • if your clients will be happy enough

  • if they get the result they want

  • will they feel it was worth it

Here is what you can control and what you are responsible for:

  • Showing up 100%

  • Doing your best

  • Be in integrity

Putting all that pressure on yourself, only keeps you avoiding bigger opportunities. You don’t need to have it “all figured out and be perfect” to start landing bigger deals today.

Instead get clear on what you are responsible for and don’t be a codependent in your business. It ultimately leads to overdelivery and burnout.

STRETCH

Everyone has a number where they start to feel like it’s impossible…

Find your number ($20K, $50K, $100K, 7 figures, 8 figures, 9 figures)

And start to get comfortable with it

The reality is that it’s just a number (it has no meaning, except for the one you assign it)!

But the common limiting thoughts are

  • you are a fake

  • can you really make it there

  • that isn’t “for you”, you aren’t that special

The only one that is telling you that it’s not possible, is yourself.

Don’t worry, I legit see this in entrepreneurs scaling to 9 figures. It’s about constantly training your mindset. It’s the good old saying, new level, new devil. 

You have to be willing to get uncomfortable, make new choices to create a new realm of possibility for yourself.

In conclusion, the reality is that if you feel that money will make you a bad person or that you aren’t good enough to make it happen, a part of you isn’t aligned with creating it so you won’t really execute it in the ways that make the difference.

Change Beliefs = New Execution = Breakthrough Glass Ceiling = New Reality

What I have seen with my clients who started reprogramming their mindset around these specific blocks: 

B started landing 5-6 figures in contracts, 7 figures in funding

C raised her prices & almost 2x her monthly revenue consistently

L 4x her revenue and hit 6 figures in her second biz within months 

A created 6 figures in just a few months, after struggling to increase her prices
